from drab..to fab..night stand!

So when I originally thought we were going to be re-doing all of our bedroom furniture and not getting new stuff I decided to pick up a cheap night stand and re-do it.  It was my first piece that I ever sanded, stained, and did EVER.  I love how it turned out and I had big help from my mom....after sanding and sanding and staining and working on some other craft projects I sprained my wrist...so staining was out of the picture for me for a while..so my mom finished the piece for me and I love how it turned out...only one problem...I didn't measure how long the handle needed to be before hand..and when I went to get one after it was done it was impossible to find one that fit it...so instead of buying one online that I don't love..I'm still shopping around for knobs that catch my eye.  4 knobs? ? oh well It'll do for the spare room...for now at least...I'm very proud of my first piece that was only $6.00 and I think it came out awesome...tell me what you think!!??

and this is where it is now, and how it is decorated now in the spare bedroom...It has knobs on it now that I don't love but they will do...for now at least!

The master...not completed but a sneak peak!

So the master bedroom....where do I begin...it was what my kids like to call it..A HOT MESS!...I love David don't get me wrong..but it was a total man's bedroom...Steeler's Curtains, Steeler's blankets, clothes everywhere...white walls, pop cans every where, and let's just go with not my taste...I wanted to go with the whole black white and red theme...and David had other plans...so I let him do his thing....we were blessed to have David's Mom help out with it a great deal and my mom bought the comforter!!  It's not completed yet..we still need to put the finishing touches and details up..but it's getting there so I thought I would share a sneak peak...also..if anyone say the spare bedroom...we got a new comforter and a few more goodies in there!!  I'll post next week after I get back from visiting him again!

Spare Bedroom re-do??

So we have slowly been working on changing the house around, but it's hard with me not living there...so every weekend I go down there we get another thing done, slowly, but surely.  We haven't completely finished either room but I thought I would share with you the changes that we have made...

Hopefully all of the furniture will eventually be stained the same color so it looks like it matches, but I think that will have to be a project that has to wait until I move in...what do you think??

It's been a while...

So a lot has been going on since I've gotten back from Florida and I haven't had time to blog, or update pictures...Florida was amazing!!! It was full of fun, friends, sun, beach time, and a BEAUTIFUL wedding!!! Here's a few pictures
