So this weekend was wonderful!  Saturday I went to see Jessica for her dress fitting, David and I spent the night grocery shopping, eating dinner, and watching movies...the perfect way to celebrate 1 year since me met!  Sunday he went to fire training and I went and watched for a little bit...he's such a cute fire fighter...we worked on a few projects..went to go see our friends new baby girl...SOO cute..and then I headed back home...2 hour long boring drive, but it went by fast.  I'll post picture's later but just thought I would give the update...also just in case anyone was wondering what's going on with WW..as of last wk I am down 17 pounds!  Woo woo Go me!

Also anyone that has Blogger do you know how to upload pictures from your phone onto Blogger...I signed up for it and it said everything was working and then when I tried to send the pictures it shot me down!  Any ideas????

You put your right foot in...

You put your left foot in....and they don't fit!  So I'll be honest I have a compulsive shopping addiction.  I buy just to buy...I have so many projects that need to be done and I don't even know where to begin...but...this one is simple!

Yes they are on the kitchen table..shame on me!
I bought these shoes at Carson's....they were $5.99 and then marked down to $1.25...woo go me!  Instead of trying them on like a normal person I saw the size and scooped them up and headed for the cashier.  Too bad one morning when I was getting ready for work I went to put them on and they didn't FIT...I was in shock..I have huge feet {Size 10}..but really how could they be too big?  Well they were..just in the back strap piece...

My first craft project

Today I thought I'd share with you when I first really decided I liked crafting...I was in college and was moving into a really creepy, old, ugly apartment where they wouldn't let you paint the walls, and for the first month and a half even after we shampooed the carpet our feet would turn black...gross..but anyways I decided I wanted my room to be bright and full of life just like me.  I don't have pictures from my actual room anymore but just know it was zebra patterned and polka dotted...a typical college room, except I had made everything myself...from picture frames, to mirrors, to nightstands, and a bed skirt.  I thought I was pretty crafty...not so much but people loved it!  Anyways I do still have one of the items left after I gave the rest of it to my cousins daughter..shes like 8...exactly the age of someone who should have all the bright crazy stuff I did...but anyways here is the mirror..I still take pride in it even though I look at it and go what were you thinking!  What was your first craft project ever???

Ignore the things in the mirror..it needs to be cleaned and thats all the stuff in my office at work on the desk whoopsies!

can we say HELLO YELLOW!

So my wknd project .... I decided to paint a rug..I know everyone's doing it..but I wanted to see if I could do it for myself with a small one so that I could do bigger ones in the future!  And I did..and rocked it!  WOOWOO...but anyways I'm going to show you how to paint the rug and get your input!

First: Buy yourself a rug, or use an old one that needs a facelift, some painters tape, paint, and sponge brushes if you don't have them.

This is what I started with...a $3.99 rug from Menards and some painters tape I already had.

Lay down the rug flat and just start taping whatever kind of pattern you want. I chose Chevron because I wanted some flair and I like crazy! Some people like to do thicker stripes and others choose close together..I chose close together and to be honest I didn't measure I just taped where I thought needed it...but make sure you have perfectly pointed tips...I forgot to take a picture of just the taped off pieces ..such a horrible blogger...but the next thing you want to do is lay down lots of newspaper underneath and around.  I also cut open a box and put it underneath just incase the paint went through the rug...it didn't but just for clean up reasons then start painting.  I chose to do 2 colors so I switched between every other.

I did the yellow first as you can see I let it dry and then I went over it again just to make it pop...afterwards I did white..

The white deff. needed a second coat so I waited for it to dry and put the 2nd coat on..

Can you see the difference between the first coat and 2nd coat....after it was all done and dried I took the tape off...

and here is the final product....I love it...David loves it..my family thinks it's loud just like me..so I guess that means they love it too!  I'm still debating on putting some kind of protective topping on it, but not sure what to use...any ideas?  How do you think it turned out???  Not bad for my first go at it..is it??
